Privacy, in plain language

Your day stays
on your Mac.

Notchy is built without analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, crash beacons or an account system. The app’s everyday data stays on your device.

01

What Notchy does not collect

Notchy does not collect or transmit app usage, feature activity, clipboard contents, calendar events, reminders, file names, browsing history, audio, camera video, crash reports or device analytics. There is no remote configuration or cross-app tracking.

02

Data stored on your Mac

Preferences, permission state and security-scoped file bookmarks are stored locally in macOS preferences. Clipboard history is stored in the app’s local Application Support folder. Clipboard collection can be paused or disabled; sensitive, transient and file-URL pasteboard types are ignored on a best-effort basis.

Notchmarks contain only destinations you explicitly save. Downloads are observed from your local Downloads folder without a browser extension, network interception or access to browser history. Apple Shortcuts are listed by name locally and run only after an explicit action.

03

Optional system permissions

Notchy asks only when a feature needs access. You can decline access and continue using the rest of the app.

CameraShow a mirrored Camera Mirror preview only while that tool is open. Notchy does not add a recording output, save frames or transmit video.
CalendarRead upcoming events for the Calendar tool. Notchy does not create or edit events.
RemindersRead selected lists and, unless read-only mode is enabled, complete a task you choose.
BluetoothRead connected AirPods or headphone state and available battery information.
System Audio RecordingAnalyze output locally for the live equalizer on supported macOS versions. Audio is never saved or shared.
AccessibilityUsed only if you enable Notchy’s native volume or brightness HUD replacement or global tap-sequence triggers. Trigger typing protection observes timing after ordinary key events; Notchy does not store or transmit what you type.
04

Network connections

The app’s core tools work without sending activity data to Notchy. At public launch, license activation and validation may contact the payment provider. License details are stored in macOS Keychain; they are not used for analytics or advertising.

05

Beta applications and this website

If you apply for beta access, the application stores the details you submit—such as your name, email, Mac information, selected interests and written responses—only to evaluate applications, contact testers and operate the beta. Application data is not sold or added to an unrelated marketing list, and is deleted when no longer needed or within 12 months.

The public site does not include advertising or behavioral analytics. Links to GitHub or a future payment provider are governed by those services’ own privacy policies once you leave this site.

06

Your controls

You can disable individual features, pause or clear clipboard history, revoke permissions in macOS System Settings, remove local histories, and uninstall Notchy at any time. Beta applicants may request deletion through the private contact route used for their application or acceptance. Do not post personal information in a public GitHub issue.
